Being self-aware of your mood
Having periods of sadness or just feeling generally down are not uncommon with chronic conditions. These illnesses are life-altering and your feelings are valid. It is important to be aware of them, however. If you notice that these feelings are becoming more constant or are impacting your daily life in a negative way, it may be time to seek professional help. Talk to your provider so that he/she can help you get the appropriate treatment if needed. A good place to start with RA is talking to your provider at your regular visits about your mood. This way he/she can help you keep track of any changes.
