So, we all need rest, and it is of course important to listen to your body and not deny yourself rest when you need it. Getting moving can be difficult, but is also essential for strengthening joints and muscles and maintaining a good quality of life. Being too idle can actually worsen your symptoms. When you are experience pain and flares, you should slow down, but that does not mean that you should become completely idle. Flexibility exercises such as stretching and yoga, or working out in a warm pool can make the exercising more tolerable. Once you feel better you can increase your exercise level and incorporate cardio and weight lifting.
