Study Evaluates Whether Nurses Specializing in Rheumatology Affects Patient Outcomes

The study involved literature review

To do this, scientists decided to review existing literature regarding rheumatoid arthritis patients under specialized nursing care. All articles that were published between 1990 to 2016 were included and systematically reviewed. All studies involved patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and were over the age of 16. Only English literature was included that investigated nursing-sensitive patient outcomes. Outcomes were considered affected areas of a person's health, behavior, or perception in response to a nursing intervention.
