One Woman’s Powerful Story of Living with Multiple Sclerosis

Recovery

After the surgery removed her gangrenous limbs, Colleen woke up to a missing right foot and only one hand. She endured hard and painful therapy before eventually making it out of the intensive care unit. At the step-down unit, she spent 10 days of recovery and begged her doctor to let her go home. The doctors were reluctant to release her from the hospital in her fragile state, but they finally agreed to let her go home to her family. Her husband and mother wheeled her out of the hospital back home.
