Meredith Vieira's Husband Richard Cohen Discusses Life with Multiple Sclerosis
Teaching valuable life lessons
MS runs in Cohen's family. Both his father and grandfather suffered from the condition. The fact that their children might be likely to suffer from the disease constantly worries Cohen and Vieira; however, so far, none of them have shown any signs or symptoms of the disease. Vieira said that her husband’s sense of humor and grace in the face of adversity has taught their children valuable life lessons. “Well, I think that he's the greatest teacher they'll ever have. If they don't already know it, they will. He's teaching them compassion and strength and dignity, bravery,” she said.
