Protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays
The next important aspect to your skin care is sun protection. Not only is your skin more sensitive to harsh ingredients, but it’s also going to be more vulnerable to sun damage because of the treatments. Sun damage is very important as it can cause skin cancer and painful skin reactions.
Make sure you take care of your skin when you go outside, especially during or after cancer treatments. Look for a sunblock with high Sun Protection Factor, which is a number that tells you how well it can block UVB rays and protect your skin. Try to get one that uses an ingredient called non-nano zinc oxide. This gives you full UV protection and keeps your skin moisturized too.
Try wearing a wide-brimmed hat when you go outside to protect the skin on your face. Umbrellas can also be particularly useful for casting a protective shade. If the weather permits, wear long sleeves and pants to help protect your skin from the sun. Remember, even if you choose to wear a hat and long sleeves, it’s still a good idea to wear sunblock underneath. Sun-rays can also penetrate clothing!
