Promising 'Stop Switch' Discovered that Could Stop Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in its Tracks

What is the stop switch?

The aforementioned study was published in the science journal, Nature. The work highlighted their discovery that defective T cells have an emergency stop switch known as a tumor suppressor. The switch is actually a protein called PD-1, which is able to stop defective T cells in their tracks at an early stage, helping prevent the cells from dividing rapidly and getting out of control.
