The importance of a quick response
Mr. Pochiba’s story is a tragic example of what can happen when someone with dementia wanders. And, unfortunately, his story is not unique. The Alzheimer’s Association reports that if someone wanders and is not found within 24 hours, they have a 50% chance of suffering a serious injury or death. That’s why it’s extremely important to act quickly if a loved one or someone you care for with dementia wanders off.
