Macular Degeneration

1 What is Age-Related Macular Degeneration?

Macular degeneration is a condition in which macula, the central portion of retina, deteriorates.

Since this condition develops with age, it is known as age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

This is one of the leading causes of vision impairment in old age.

Though it may not cause complete blindness, it results in considerable vision disability during old age.
