Aminomine is an essential amino acid which is utilized by the body for the maintenance of normal growth in infants. Nitrogen balance in adults is also maintained by tryptophan. Moreover, tryptophan is needed by the body for synthesis of niacin and serotonin. This cannot be synthesized by the body therefore you should take tryptophan containing foods adequately to prevent its deficiency.

Tryptophan can be found in cheese, chicken, eggs, fish, milk, nuts, peanuts, pumpkin seeds etc. In clinical practices, L-tryptophan is widely used to treat depression, anxiety, premenstrual syndrome, sleep apnea, and many other problems.

L-tryptophan is prescribed along with other medications to treat mental depression. It is also used in combination with Lithium to treat bipolar disorder. This product is available in 500 mg and 1000 mg tablets and capsules.

If any symptom of tryptophan overdose is noticed, you should get emergency help immediately. Dryness of mouth is a common side effect of tryptophan therapy.

Using sugarless candy or gum or a saliva substitute may be helpful to get rid of such problems. If dry mouth continues for more than 2 weeks, you should consult with your physician immediately.

Excessive exposure to ultraviolet light reduces the chance of cataract formation.
