Aquasol A is a type of Vitamin A injection used for the treatment of vitamin A deficiency. This drug is given when oral administration of Vitamin A cannot be done such as in cases of anorexia, nausea, vomiting, before and after surgery or in malabsorption syndromes.

Aquasol A is available as a solution for injection containing vitamin a palmitate 15 milligram in 1 milliliter.

Aquasol A may interact with medications such as:

  • Acitretin
  • Alitretinoin
  • Bexarotene
  • Cholestyramine
  • Isotretinoin
  • Tretinoin
  • Other products that contain vitamin A (such as multivitamins)
  • Warfarin
  • Neomycin
  • Orlistat
  • Mineral oil

Side Effects

There are no side effects known aside from a possible allergic reaction in people who have previous or unknown hypersensitivity to the drug.

Watch out for signs of allergic reactions such as:

  • Rash
  • Itching
  • Swelling
