Idamycin is an injectable drug for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adults. This drug is available as a 20 mg single dose vial for injection.

Interactions:

Idarubicin may interact with medications such as other anti-cancer drugs, especially anthracyclines such as doxorubicin.

Side Effects:

There are no side effects known aside from a possible allergic reaction in people who have previous or unknown hypersensitivity to the drug.

Watch out for signs of allergic reactions such as:

  • Itching
  • Swelling

Warnings:

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have the following:

  • Allergy to idarubicinor to other anthracyclines such as doxorubicin

  • Radiation treatment especially to chest area
