Generic: Sitagliptin and Metformin

JanumetĀ is a drug which is used to treat type 2 diabetes. This drug is available as 50mg-1000mg or 50mg-500mg tablets.

Instructions:

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have the following:

  • Allergy to sitagliptin or metformin
  • Severe breathing problems such as obstructive lung disease or severe asthma
  • Metabolic acidosis such as diabetic ketoacidosis
  • Blood problems such as anemia or vitamin B12 deficiency
  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disease
  • Disease of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
  • Pregnancy or lactation

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as prescribed by your doctor or as stated on the package label.

Side Effects:

There are no side effects known aside from a possible allergic reaction in people who have previous or unknown hypersensitivity to the drug.
