6 Reasons Why It's Harder for Men to Be Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia

2. No proper diagnostic test specifically for fibromyalgia

Diagnostic tests are done to determine the physical condition of the patient. This includes asking the patients their medical history, self-reported symptoms, and physical examination. This is done for all diseases. However, there isn't a diagnostic test specifically for fibromyalgia, even in a medically-advanced world.

If there are scans and tests, it is not to test if the patient has fibromyalgia. These tests are usually to see if the patient has any other illness. This makes the diagnosis very hard. According to the National Fibromyalgia Association, it takes an average of three to five years for the condition to be diagnosed.
