Patients need to be able to connect with others
Many cancer patients often state that loneliness and isolation are among the top challenges that they fight in the day-to-day battles. Patients may find it difficult to connect with others who share in similar challenges and even more impossible to sift through the mass of dated information found at libraries and online. Once patients find access to information, it is even more difficult to discern which is accurate or even safe advice to follow. Services such as online communities are in tall demand but short supply. These organizations seek to bridge the gap between patients with cancer and others with cancer as well as with relevant and timely medical advice that is easy to comprehend.
