HS senior killed herself after her nude photo was shared around school.
In 2008, high school senior Jessica Logan committed suicide after a nude photo of her was distributed around her school by her ex-boyfriend. When Jessica and her boyfriend broke up, he sent a nude photo she had sent him while they were dating to everyone who attended their high school. For months, Jessica’s female classmates bullied and harassed her, accusing her of being a “slut” and “whore.”
Humiliated and tormented, Jessica started skipping school to avoid being tortured by her peers. When she did attend school, she hid in the bathroom to avoid being teased. Understandably, her grades began to suffer.
In May, 2008, Jessica shared her story in an interview on a Cincinnati television station. She hoped that, by sharing her experiences, she could help prevent others from having to go through the same thing. Two months later, in July, 2008, Jessica attended the funeral of a boy who had committed suicide. After the funeral, Jessica went home and took her own life.
