Kate attended workshops that trained doctors and nurses.
Kate attended workshops teaching trainee doctors skills in obstetrics and gynaecology. At this workshop, Kate heard about the ongoing work to reduce newborn as well as maternal deaths around the world. The Leading Safe Choices Programme, which is moving to expand contraceptive choices and improve safe abortion services in South Africa and Tanzania, was also a topic in these workshops.
On February 27, the Duchess visited the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) to learn more about maternal and newborn mortality. She is determined to rid the world community of the stigma of women’s health and to discuss contraception.
