With the passage of time, Rowan and Charlie were tested and were also diagnosed with DMD. However, Betty has two daughters and a fourth boy who do not suffer from neuromuscular condition. It is also worth mentioning that Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a genetic muscular disease seen in mostly boys, and, unfortunately, the genes are often passed down by the mother. No matter what the gene is passed down to children, however, some with the gene for muscular dystrophy may never present the diseases or its severe symptoms.
