The importance of emotions

Aside from the physical issues that arise from dealing with a disorder like DMD, the emotional side effects can also take a big toll.  It can have an effect on the person dealing with the disease, their families, friends and even caregivers and teachers. Those feelings are not going to go away - in fact, it’s good that they bubble up to the surface once in a while. Emotions actually demonstrate that stuff is being dealt with the child’s brain and heart.
