Muscular Dystrophy Patient and Family Find Hope with "Right to Try Act"

Pennsylvania State Representative Bob Godshall, who is a Republican, had multiple myeloma at 72. Myeloma is cancer that affects bone marrow. He was told that he had only one year to live. There was an experimental treatment that could help, but he had exceeded the maximum age for a clinical trial which is 65. He said that no one can ever administer unapproved treatments as long as there was a liability. He signed the rights and was able to get the procedure. Years later, he got an experimental drug.

He wants to be cured, but the interventions gave him 14 years. Cancer re-emerged recently, but he continues to advocate for right-to-try legislation. He said that he wanted people to the same chance of living that he had.
