Navigating Physical Education with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

The take-away

Needless to say, children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy have more physical limitation than their classmates in school. However, with the right adaptive PE activities and curriculum, they can be helped to achieve goals while gaining more understanding of their condition. Having them take part in each activity in a limited fashion could only discourage the kids. Give them certain roles in each to allow them to have a gratifying school experience.
