St. Jude Hospital is the leading facility for pediatric cancer patients
Possibly one of the most well-known pediatric cancer institutes is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Founded in 1962 by entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude has been working tirelessly ever since to find cures and preventive treatments for cancer and other serious pediatric diseases.
No child is denied treatment at these hospitals, even if they can’t afford to pay, and families never receive a bill for travel, housing or food. Thanks to advancements made at these institutions, the rate of survival for childhood cancer has grown from 20% to more than 80% since St. Jude’s inception! The ultimate goal is a 100% survival rate, and in keeping with their belief that no child should die from cancer, St. Jude shares any discoveries they make with other scientists around the world so that others can utilize this knowledge to save lives.
If you have any doubts about donating to pediatric cancer research, rest assured St. Jude puts your money to good use. Perhaps one day soon it will help find a cure!
