New Autism Regression Research Looks Promising for Diagnosis

Autism Regression: What does the research involve?

What does the research involve?

Videotape and written records of children with autism were reviewed by researchers. These records were from the first year of life of several children with autism. What they found to be true is that there were indeed signs of autism that were present. These signs were most often subtler. They showed multiple symptoms of the condition such as eye gaze patterns, language, and social skills. There were a number of studies done that report the wide range in onset patterns. Dr. Ozonoff believes that with all of these findings, there is no regression, but instead a variety of onsets of autism.
