Autism and sports

While programs like social skills groups can be a fantastic way to teach autistic children some of the cues and abilities they may not develop naturally, it’s also important to remember that children with autism are still children. Providing them with altered programming or education methods that are tailored to their learning styles is incredibly important for their long-term success. It’s also good for them to have the chance to interact with other kids in an environment that hasn’t been specially engineered with their condition in mind. Researchers have found that active play such as organized sports is one area that can have huge benefits for children with autism.
