Target Creates Clothing Tailored to Kids with Autism

Solving the problem of buying oversized clothes

When speaking about buying clothes not tailored to children with autism she said, “I have a seven year old daughter, Elinor, who has autism. She’s not potty trained, which means finding clothes that fit is a challenge. For pants or shirts, I either size way up, or buy pieces that are all function, no style.”

The oversized bottoms still fit over normal underwear if the child is potty trained. They would not be a tight as other bottoms in the same size, which also adds on to the autism-friendliness of the design, as tightly fitted pants can be their own annoyance.
