Allergist and Immunologist Questions allergy

Allergy

When would i go to the er for allergies? I went to an allergist last year after experiencing random bouts of hives, and tested positive for a level 3 mild pork allergy. Since then I’ve ate pork products and sometimes i would react sometimes i wouldn’t. A few nights ago i got a whopper from Burger King where i know they use the same grill for everything and had a really bad reaction where i had full body hives, my eyes and lips swelled, and when i woke up the next day my eyes and arms were still swollen (had to loosen my watch 2 notches) and had hives on my hands. I was also very nauseous when i was experiencing the hives. I don’t know if pork is the cause of the allergy or if it is something else.

Go back to the allergist now. Most hives are not allergic..
The severity of your last reaction suggests it may be due to pork or something else, including the condiments, salad dressing, buns etc.
in case you have the environmental allergies on a top of food allergies the seasonal pollens or the outdoor molds may augment your immune system response.
So you need to go back to your allergist for a comprehensive evaluation.
