Are ganglion cysts hard like bone?

I am a 30 year old female. I want to know if ganglion cysts are hard like bone?

Yes. Ganglion cysts fill with fluid. Just as a balloon can be filled with water and become more rigid, a ganglion cyst feels more dense as it fills with fluid.

Ganglion cysts can be very hard (much harder feeling than some other cysts). They can increase and decrease in size and, depending on the location, can cause some pain along with stiffness. If you take a pen light flashlight and place it on the cyst, it will be somewhat translucent, bone will not allow light to pass through. Treatment is observation, aspiration, or surgical excision.
Good luck. Happy New Year.
No.
No they are usually soft and compressible. If it is very hard you may be dealing with a bone spur rather than a ganglion cyst.
No they are not! They can be firm but always slightly mobile with finger pressure.
Not usually. They usually get bigger and smaller over time. They tend to be firm, but are compressible, somewhat like a bag of rice or balloon filled with apple jelly. They also can be moveable slightly under the skin.

Hope it helps!!
