Cardiologist Questions Cardiologist

Are heart spasms dangerous?

I'm a young male with no history of heart problems. For the last 3 months or so I notice a spasming feeling in my chest. It never lasts longer than 15 seconds, but it's absolutely terrifying. Is this dangerous?

Might be the muscles in your chest wall if you can feel it
There are many reasons for sensation of tightness or spasm in the chest. If you have family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol , you need to see your family doctor.
I guess you are experiencing heart irregularities. You need to see a cardiologist ASAP. It is simple to detect what is going on.
Good luck.
You mean coronary arterial spasm. You are a young man. Do you smoke? You may be healthy, but you should see your cardiologist. Do some tests including exercise treadmill test and holter monitor. Check your weight and diet.
Good luck.
Within the chest cavity certain organs can cause spasms like the heart vessels and esophagus. This feeling is NOT NORMAL and must be worked up to rule out more dangerous lethal conditions. Early warning signs must NOT be ignored. Other causes of spasms in young people could be a host of congenital heart diseases, cancers, infectious problems and other inflammatory causes. Get checked out!.
