Are there any food restrictions after general anesthesia?

I will have surgery under general anesthesia. Are there any food restrictions after general anesthesia?

Usually not but it’s better to have light food because you don’t want to throw up as you still have anesthetic in your system
No there are no food restrictions after General anesthesia as it relates to the Anesthesia however, there may be restrictions based upon the type of surgical procedure you are having. Thank you
Please discuss with anesthesia. It depends what the Surgery is for.
No
Depends on what sort of surgery you are having, but generally no. Many patients may feel dizzy, light-headed, or nauseous, so I typically recommend soft bland foods until you feel well enough.
Most physicians would recommend a light meal as anesthesia tends to induce nausea. Nothing too salty, greasy, fried, etc
