This is a decision that is made between you and your eye care professional.

Cataract surgery should be performed when the decrease in vision interferes with your visual needs for work or recreation. Diminished reading or driving vision under conditions of reduced contrast or increased glare.
If the cataract is visually significant, meaning it affects your daily activities such as driving, reading, etc., even when you have a correct pair of glasses, then it should be removed. Otherwise, there is no rush.
Your ophthalmologist will determine when it is time to have cataract surgery.
It should be removed when your vision is affected and is not helped by changing spectacles.
