Pulmonologist Questions Mucus

Brown specs in mucus

Ok so I first noticed brown specs in clear mucus around 2-3 months ago but that seemed to go away (atleast I didn’t notice it anymore) and then around 5 days ago I quit smoking cannabis the second I noticed this pop up again “I use to be a quite frequent smoker only cannabis and the odd vape” and was just wondering is this “normal” is it just my lungs trying to clean themselves I cough it up around 2-3 times a day any other mucus I have is just clear sometimes frothy white. If it does happen to be my lungs just cleaning themselves how long can I expect this to last?

Since you are just 19yo, I would say this is chronic bronchitis. This will occur as long as your airways are irritated….in this case from your smoking. It will subside over a few days once there is no more irritation from the smoke.
Glad to hear that you stopped smoking.
This is not normal. Please stop smoking and vaping. See a pulmonologist ASAP. You will need imaging
