Can I exercise after inguinal hernia surgery?

I will have inguinal hernia surgery. Can I exercise after inguinal hernia surgery?

Returning to exercise after inguinal hernia surgery is dependent upon the surgeon who does the surgery. Typically for my patients I recommend return to normal life quickly, but avoids strenuous activity for several weeks to allow the tissues to heal.
You can exercise once cleared by your surgeon. This is usually six weeks after surgery, but each patient is unique so please wait and get the all clear from your surgeon.
Not for 5 weeks. Your surgeon will let you know that following the postoperative instructions are as important as the operation itself. Best regards, Rad Constantine
The Surgeon has to clear you for when to start exercising, but walking is fine immediately.
