Can I take antidepressants for stress?

I have stress and want to take medications. Can I take antidepressants for stress?

Yes. Only if the stress impairs functioning and makes you depressed and or anxious.

Best is to address the stress provoking object or thing first and decrease the stress. If you tried and failed and still have anxiety then maybe an SSRI. But always get guidance from your prescribing professional!
Hope that helps.
No. There is no evidence for such an intervention. You should seek counsel from your primary care health provider regarding reliable stress management interventions, especially non-pharmaceutical ones. Should a depression screening indicate the need for further assessment that should be done by a qualified mental health provider?
