If you need a root canal or retreatment of a previous root canal due to infection, then you'll need to have additional treatment. They do not self resolve.
No it cannot. Antibiotics may make it better if it hurts but will only be a temporary solution. A new root canal is needed to get rid of the infection, and it is recommended to be done by a specialist called an Endodontist. Dr. Totonchi
