As we get older, we are more prone to atrial fibrillation. Too much thyroid medicine can make you hyperthyroid and cause atrial fibrillation which can cause dizziness, palpitations, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, and chest pain. Get an EKG and blood work.
Episodes of dizziness could be associated with too much thyroid hormone. Other symptoms can include rapid heart rate, anxiety and irritability. If you are concerned, ask your provider to check your TSH to confirm before making a dose change. If the TSH value is low, you may need a lower dose.
If your thyroid tests are normal, with a normal TSH, then the thyroid will not make you dizzy. If your thyroid tests are significantly high, then yes, there could be some dizziness.
Potentially, if you’re on to Hy-Vee dosage or you’re on two more overdosage, it’s best to have your thyroid levels checked.
Thyroid hormone supplements can cause a rapid hear rate and palpitations if dosed in excess. Anxiety and dizziness can result from such experiences. Treatment with thyroid hormone involves selecting the right preparation and dosing it accurately with blood testing under medical supervision. Be aware that thyroid hormone products on the market may also contain other ingredients in their tablets which can cause an allergic response.
Yes, we can see this when your thyroid dose may be too high and it's causing some rapid heart beat and shortness of breath. Can be corrected by lowering your dose if your TSH is suppressed.
Dear patient,

Excess thyroid hormone causing hyperthyroidism can cause many issues, including palpitations, sweating, dizziness, weight loss, irritability, or intolerance to warm weather. Dizziness may be lightheadedness or vertigo, which is a spinning sensation on head position change. Please see your physician for evaluation.
