Can eating disorders develop at any age?

I am 42 and male. Right now, I think I may have an eating disorder since I've been binge eating a lot, but I think I'm too old to have one. I'm not sure when I exactly started binge eating, but it could have been after my divorce? Maybe even a little before that. Do you think that this could be an eating disorder?

It sounds that you have had a change in your behavior that may affect your health if you are over-eating. It might be wise to seek consultation with a therapist or psychiatrist. It is possible that there is an eating disorder as they don't discriminate by age.
Yes, your eating disorder is trying to protect you from the pain of the divorce.
Eating disorders can develop at any time. It sounds like a conflicted marriage and divorce was stressful enough to set this off.
