Warm soaks in the bath tub and otc hydrocortisone cream are recommended for hemorrhoids. The main treatment is treatment of constipation and excess straining by modifying your child's diet. If a child is constipated severely limit dairy products and white foods and offering high fiber foods including whole grains, green vegetables and fresh fruits and juices. If a child is fearful of painful stools and is holding back stools, please consult your pediatrician fro recommendation of stool softeners and laxatives.
