Neurologist Questions Multiple Sclerosis

Can multiple sclerosis ever be cured?

My father has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Is it a curable problem? What is the course of treatment? I am completely unfamiliar with MS and don't really know where to start.

There is no cure for MS currently but most often can be controlled with the new medicines. It requires permanent treatment. Ideally you can find a Neurology MS Clinic but any neurologist would do. For information, I suggest you get in touch with the local Multiple Sclerosis Society. It is an organization for patients. They have a series of booklets on MS fro Patients & their families. Also a great source of resources available. Good luck!
It is not curable, but is treatable. Multiple medications are available and the newer ones are more effective (and have more side effects).
