Can partial dentures cause gum pain?

I got my partial dentures 2 days ago. My gums hurt. Can partial dentures cause gum pain?

Yes, usually after getting new partial dentures, certain gum areas may hurt because the partial is too tight at that spot. Usually after a couple days of wear, you will need to return to your dentist so they can adjust those spots on the denture so it does not hurt anymore. Dr. Totonchi
Yes initially as they are settling In you might have to get them adjusted and polished . They can cause sores and Gum pain . But also later if the pain is around the gums of the supporting teeth , one should get them checked As the supporting teeth are usually made weaker with the forces from the partials .
