Allergist and Immunologist (Pediatric) Questions Peanut Allergy

Can peanut allergies go away?

My daughter is 7 years old, and she has a serious peanut allergy. She carries around an Epi-Pen, but I don't want to see her deal with this for the rest of her life. Is this a lifelong allergy?

Peanut allergy is usually a life long allergy. Researchers are now giving peanut butter paste to young children around 6 months of age to help prevent the allergy. However your child is beyond this stage. Start teaching her foods that contain peanuts
