Not typically. But if you have an arthritic ankle, sitting for extended periods of time can cause some discomfort when you first start to walk
Sitting shouldn't cause ankle pain. If you have pain radiating to your ankle when you sit, you may be impinging the sciatica nerve in your hip area, causing pain.
No but it can cause stiffness and sedentary can worsen circulation
Sitting that causes ankle pains are quite rare.
Ankle pains generally develop when you are standing, moving or tasking because that is when the body weight is much higher compared to sitting.
Perhaps if you are always sitting with one leg over the other at the ankles, there may be some pain driven from that pressure and the cure here would be to change your sitting position.
If not, I would consider what you are doing when you are up and about as that is ore likely the root cause.
Good Fortune
Sitting will not usually cause ankle pain. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for evaluation and treatment options.
If you are sitting cross-legged and on your ankle, yes. If you have a neurologic problem related to your low back, possibly. But, in general, no.
