Some kids grow out of stuttering, but if you're concerned, you might need to seek treatment from a stuttering specialist. If you live in California, I can help you either remotely or in person, if you live close to me. You can get some really helpful information from the Stuttering Foundation: stutteringhelp.org.
There is no "fix" for stuttering. Some children have what is referred to as developmental stuttering which is actually not truly stuttering. Developmental stuttering can resolve on its own and is believed to be more of the child's mind functioning faster than they are able to articulate words. However, this type of stuttering doesn't demonstrate typical behaviors such as blocks, prolongations, repetitions and physical concomitants. Also, developmental stuttering usually doesn't last very long and occurs between ages of 2-4. If stuttering hasn't resolved by the age of 5-6, chances are it is not developmental stuttering. Other factors that might play into your child stuttering could be a genetic predisposition, meaning someone in your family stutters.

All in all, I would recommend seeing a Speech Pathologist to determine if there is a stuttering disorder or not.
Speech therapy is a great benefit to those that stutter. The reason for stuttering is different for everyone and is often coupled with treatment from a licensed mental health therapist as anxiety has been found to often time tie closely to stuttering.
