Can the emergency room treat a panic attack?

I am a 25 year old female. I want to know if the emergency room can treat a panic attack?

Yes, the most common place people end up when having a panic attack is the emergency room. Many people think they are having a heart attack or dying in some way, and end up in the ER and it is usually a panic attack. They are capable of treating it, however, if you are aware you have them you should talk to your doctor about getting the appropriate medication to treat a panic attack when it happens so that you don't need to go to the emergency room.
Yes, the ER can treat a panic attack, but it is not the place to go if you are 100% sure it is a panic attack because it is not an emergency, however, if you have doubt, then you should certainly go.

Hope this helps,

Yes they can manage acute panic but long term anxiety is best managed by a primary physician or psychiatrist
They can, for a very high bill later. They might not even really treat your panic. They will really be giving you oxygen and blood tests/ekgs to rule out a heart attack. The special place I work for, I can give you all those things. Do the lab work. Give you a place to chill out and stabilize you. Then after you are feeling more normal, I hear the panic attacks just like an outpatient primary or psychiatrist would. Trust me. During 2020, I have seen people absolutely melt down with crippling anxiety. During the pandemic, depending on what your states rules are, we have more freedom to treat mental health across state lines during the pandemic. Lots of ways to approach it!
