Can varicose veins be fixed with medications?

I have varicose veins on my legs. Can varicose veins be fixed with medications?

1 Answer

Hello, that is a very good question. Generally speaking, there are some recognized natural supplements and medications that can help relieve some of the symptoms from vein disease in some patients, by helping to reduce inflammation and helping some veins function better. This includes an oral medication called Vasculera, available by prescription in the United States. Healthy lifestyle measures can also reduce symptoms and these include healthy diet and weight, exercise, compression stocking use, frequent leg elevation, and walking/exercise. However, since venous disease is a result of malfunctioning veins, the most effective treatments are procedures geared towards treating the "bad" (malfunctioning) veins. A.J. Valenson, MD
