Can you brush your teeth after bone graft?

I am a 39 year old female. I want to know if I can brush my teeth after bone graft?

No. Leave it alone until your dentist gives you the green light.
Yes, you still need to brush your teeth to control the bacteria in your mouth. You just need to lighten up in the area of the graft for a week or so until the tenderness goes away
Yes. But be careful of the graft.
It's suggested to keep the area clean with warm water salt rinse, but after that, you can keep the teeth clean by brushing, but stay away from direct brushing in the site of bone graft.
Please do.
In general, it's best not brush any where close to the bone graft for about 2 weeks. Use mouthwash or warm salt water to rinse away any food that might accumulate in that area.
Hi there,

Usually, we don't recommend brushing the area where the bone graft was placed for at least 24 hours, so that you don't disturb the graft. After 24 hours, you can apply (Cholorohexidine Gluconate) mouth wash (Prescription) on a Q tip and apply it on the area to keep it clean twice/day. Then you could start to clean the adjacent teeth with a soft brush to ensure there is no plaque accumulation since that can delay the healing.
Hope that helps.

You may brush your teeth as usual and this is highly recommended. However in the area of the bone graft, while it is important to keep it clean while healing to help prevent bacteria buildup in the area, gentleness is the key. Be sure to use a light touch and a soft toothbrush.
Hello!

Typically, I recommend my patient brush and floss all teeth except for those directly in the surgical site until I see them for a follow-up visit. During this time, they use a prescription mouthwash to help keep the area clean. At the follow-up, we determine when they are ready to start brushing. If you want a more specific answer to your exact situation, I am sure the surgeon's office would be happy to answer if you called them.
Good luck healing!
It is not recommended to brush or floss the area immediately after a bone graft. Usually, the surgeon will recommend an antibacterial mouth rinse to keep the area clean.
You shouldn’t disturb the bone graft site, but can brush the other teeth in the mouth.
After the bone graft, you should follow the dentist recommendation. Brushing your teeth is essential for good oral health and the dentist may tell you how to manage the site with the graft.

Within the first 24 hours after the bone grafting procedure, avoid brushing the surgical area. Vigorous rinsing or brushing can stimulate bleeding or dislodge the blood clot that was formed in the bone grafting site. Once you resume brushing, use a soft toothbrush and keep the surgical site clean. In addition, please follow the post operative instructions given by your dentist.
