Yes, acupuncture can help, and sooner is better than later. Scalp and body acupuncture have been shown to be helpful in recovery and prevention.
Yes! Acupuncture is excellent for post stroke recovery. Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM is very strong at helping stroke patients recover, and many providers have additional training or certification in what is called Zhu style scalp acupuncture or Jiao style scalp acupuncture which is purported to have a strong neurological affect on the body. ~Rebecca
Absolutely, Acupuncture is wonderful for stroke victims. Depending on the exact diagnosis, your acupuncturist can access the treatment neccessary. If the patient does not have a pace maker or a history of epilepsy, I highly recommend the patient have electro-stimulation. This is when the acupuncture needles are connect to a low voltage stimultion meter. The machine emits a varying degree and rhythmic pulsation through the needles to stimulate the nerves, bringing them back into a better state. This is not a TENS machine. In my humble opinion, the pulse does not go deep enough to help revive nerve and muscle tissue on TENS machines. The voltage through an acupuncture point is mor effective. This treatment can be as short as a few months to a year. Improvement are subtle, but over a period of time the results can be regenerating. Andrew Pacholyk Peacefulmind.com
Yes acupuncture can help recovery from strokes, the results will depend on the severity of issues, etc. The sooner that treatment is started, the better the outcome of restoring lost function. Acupuncture has shown to have great effect on hastening the recovery after a stroke! Particularly using Estim it can really assist in regaining motor control. It's not a terribly fast process, but as you can see in this paper the effects are significant. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8872684/
Acupuncture and appropriate herbs works amazing for post-stroke. It works so well, I was part of a collaboration between Stanford medical school and Zheijiang Medical university to begin an integrative approach to post-stroke care at Stanford University. I was fortunate to be trained and educated in my doctoral work to help post-stroke patients. I have had excellent results from full recovery from paralysis for example from post-stroke. Time is an essence though, the faster the intervention the better the results and recovery time.
Acupuncture has a long history of helping people recover from a stroke. The sooner a person begins acupuncture, the better the outcome. Richard Mandell, Lic.Ac. Licensed Acupuncturist Brookline Community Acupuncture www.brooklinecommunityacupuncture.com
Yes, acupuncture really can help recover after a stroke.
Acupuncture is excellent to rehabilitate stroke and it’s complications
Yes
We will exam 1st. Then provide dry needling 1st. Patients will find instant results in general.
Depending on patients’ medical histories and conditions, each patient will have different responses. Patients will have to follow up in 3-7days depending on severity.
Patients will be examined again on how much difference they have experienced since the initial acupuncture treatment.
Then we can give patients a plan for symptomatology.
If we find limitations in improvements, we will apply different plans as a holistic approach.
Absolutely! Get your friend into an acupuncturist ASAP. The sooner they start getting treated, the more likely they are to have a full recovery.
Yes, have acupuncture as soon as possible! The sooner you have it, the better the results will be. Make sure your friend has 2-3 treatments per week with an acupuncturist who is specially trained in stroke methods.
Acupuncture with herbs, and sometimes massage, should be able to help your friend with recovery after a stroke. It may take a number of weeks with multiple sessions per week.
