OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions

Cervical mess

Years ago (around 2019) , I noticed my cervix was starting to be right at my vag entrance. I went to a doc and they said they noticed nothing. It's current state right now is much worse. My cervix sticks out over an inch for sure when i'm on toilet/squating. When I stand, it's still painful and uncomfortable. I can sometimes sit on it. I usually have abdominal pains. When using the restroom, just touching my cervix mid wipe can sometimes cause more pain. My worst times are during my periods. Which is often, sometimes being on my period for several weeks in a row, then clean one, then back on. I also get ovarian cysts. Since everything got worse, I haven't felt like myself and normal pain killers have no effect. I sometimes want to cut it out myself. I don't have insurance so I havent seen a doctor recently, but i'm afraid it'll just be a waste and they'll tell me they see nothing again. Or that they want me to push it back up. I would really prefer getting a full hysterectomy, but is that possible? I'm 23 in May. They say it's nearly impossible to get the surgery if you're young and can have kids. But I don't want any, I just want it all gone.

Hi

I'm sorry you are going through this.
It sounds like you either have uterine prolapse, bladder prolapse or mass prolapsed in the vagina which may not be as impressive if you are examined laying down.
You are young to have this. I'd recommend seeing a GYN to do pelvic prolapse assessment on you after they've done a speculum exam.
Hysterectomy is permanent and being so young, no one would want to take away your option to build a family should you ever want that.
There are surgeries that can "lift" the prolapse. Inquire about those before going the Hysterectomy route.

All the best
