Chipped molar?

I was eating a bagel yesterday and a small part of my upper left molar in the back chipped off. I didn’t realize it until I felt the tooth with my tongue. I am just about 30 weeks pregnant so going to the dentist now makes me feel nervous. There is no pain associated with the tooth and I’ve been trying to eat on my right side. I don’t see my OB/GYN for another week and a half.

Can getting the tooth fixed wait a couple of months until my son is born? Or should I have it taken care of sooner?

Hello there!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! it is actually very important that you see your dentist during pregnancy. Also, the broken tooth should be look at immediately, before it progresses further. The longer you wait, the more damage is done and the more expensive it gets to fix it.
All the best!!
Yes, it can be fixed. Usually do not do dental work in the 1st trimester, but you should be fine.
If it is a small chip and don't feel any sensitivity or pain, you may chew both side and wait until your son is born. If you chew right side only because of discomfort or irritating tongue, ask dentist to "smooth off" the sharp area, for now.
If it really is a small chip it can wait. If there is any sensitivity it should be evaluated by your dentist. There is no danger from dental treatment in the last trimester.
