Cyst antibiotics?

My husband has a cyst on his neck doctor prescribed flucloxacillin 500mg. He's diabetic and has taken them for 2 days and his blood sugars are very low between 3.5 and 5.

Clinical Considerations 1. Flucloxacillin and Hypoglycemia Flucloxacillin is not typically associated with hypoglycemia, but infections themselves can affect glucose metabolism, sometimes leading to decreased appetite and lower intake especially in elderly patients. Indirect effects such as decreased food intake, altered gut absorption, or interactions with existing diabetic regimens especially insulin may precipitate low blood glucose events. 2. Insulin and Other Diabetes Medications Insulin is the likely cause of the low blood sugar in this case. Interaction caution There are no strong interactions between flucloxacillin and insulin directly, but the clinical context infection, decreased oral intake, medication timing must be evaluated.
A neck cyst can be represented by different etiologies. The neck is a very delicate area important vessels, nerves, and structures are located. try to see a dermatologist because if it's a cyst, he/she can take it out. If not, they will tell you who can medically treat you. Thank you.
I would suggest a US scan first.
Hi, I think you should call your dr. and inform Him /Her. Lowering the insulin amount by 3 units might be helpful.. Normal Blood sugar ranges from 3.8 to 6.1 Mmol/l for fasting bllod sugar. Hope he will be well.
Dear patient,

You must immediately see your physician for further advice as to decreasing insulin dosage, and changing meds.
