OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions OB-GYN

Do I have PID?

I have had some issues with my vaginal area for a year. It started with skipping periods for 4 months. Then I got my periods, but with a white thick discharge that smelled slightly bad. I also get pain when more of it comes out and before my period. It hurts a lot sometimes but when I can out the white stuff, it stops hurting. Should I see a doctor urgently for this? Also, which kind of doctors would help?

Hello,

Thank you for your question. I would see a gynecologist for this issue. You may have a vaginal infection that is not PID. It is also possible that you may have PID, but you would need a vaginal culture to assess your microbiome and determine what's going on there. This is where I would start. As far as skipping or missing periods, this sounds like a separate issue from the vaginal discharge that can also be worked up and addressed by your gynecologist.
Yes, need to see a gynecologist.
You should definitely seek care with a physician, ideally a gynecologist/women’s health specialist.
It seems that you need to go to the nearest gyn clinic for a good examination & evaluation of your discharge. It's better for you to be evaluated at your earliest convenience.

Stay safe,
